Business Analyst is responsible for managing non-product third-party applications for bioMerieux North America and the Salt Lake City site.  This includes management of established policy, supplier negotiation and pricing management, administration and license management, and training for employees. This role will be expected to schedule and lead department-wide trainings outside of IS to promote the value of certain solutions.

Analyst will be capable of understanding complex SaaS and systems application architecture and how it relates to business processes to provide value to organization through high quality customer service to internal parties and strong relationship management with partners outside the business.

Analyst will apply knowledge of IS principles, business processes and standards.  Analyst will evaluate and understand integration dependencies associated with hardware, software, business requirements, and system characteristics while adhering to strategies, policies, and standards associated with task being performed.  Emphasis on a technical understanding of systems and their administration along with system configuration as needed.

Analyst will work on several projects simultaneously, following business processes through all applications to complete projects.  Candidates may interact with business or technical users through all levels of operations and management to provide understanding and insight in all application oriented business processes. Analyst must have the ability to work as part of a team.  Effective time management, analytical thinking skills, organization skills, and the ability to communicate effectively is important in role.

Business Analyst roles relate to specific business domains and specialization or experience in specific domains may vary depending on open position.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of bioMerieux's Quality Systems
• Participate in collaboration efforts with global application teams 
• Participate in supplier sourcing and negotiation requirements
• Constructs forecasts, recommendations and strategic/ tactical plans based on business and market data
• Participate in all applicable phases of the project life cycle and software life cycle
• Partner with the business by gaining an understanding of their needs and contribute to solutions that meet their goals/objectives
• Contribute to preparation of comprehensive and thorough technical documentation. (e.g.technical specifications, V&V forms, etc.)
• Provide excellent ongoing customer service and adhere to internal and external service level agreements.
• Follow standards for change control and configuration management with a focus on communication to primary, secondary and tertiary level stakeholders
• Identify risks to project deliverables and recommend mitigation strategy as needed. Develop alternative solutions as required
• Participate in cross functional teams to ensure proper integration of business process and procedure requirements
• Support user adoption efforts related to new applications, change management and business process flow
• General knowledge of IT applications and infrastructure environment, identify and utilize new trends in field of IS
• Complete projects on time with minimal supervision
• Continually update technical knowledge and skills
• Other duties as assigned.
• This role will provide the main business support from IS for third party applications
• This role should stay up to date on industry trends and top-performing applications that meet IS security standards while also meeting the needs of business owners. They will help introduce new applications and technology to other business departments by becoming familiar with industry options.
• This role will work with multiple departments throughout the company, which requires professional internal-customer service.

Qualifications

Training and Education:

• BS degree in Computer Science, IS, IT or related field or equivalent experience
• Business domain focused degree or related experience preferred

Experience: 

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
• Experience with administration of SaaS solutions, ERP (SAP) and/or CRM (Salesforce) and/or other similar business platforms required
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience with specific business domain as defined by role required

Skills: 

• Experience in customer services with a high record of customer satisfaction.
• Experience in software development lifecycle especially quality assurance processes.
• Understands software best practices.
• Orientation for detail work product, with emphasis or accuracy and completeness.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and flow chart software.
• Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively.
• Must demonstrate ability to complete objectives without high levels of supervision.
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer is planned and executed to support systems, process, people post project delivery.
