The Materials Handling Manager is responsible for maintaining, replenishing, and auditing a centralized stock warehouse and or, multiple production stock warehouses. The manager will supervise team leads, material handlers, delivery, and, or receiving personnel to insure the replenishment, inventory integrity, and transactional accuracy of these warehouses and material. This manager will ensure materials remain in manageable balance against data. The materials personnel will receive materials, perform physical and routine cycle counting, kit Kanban replenishment, and, deliver Kanban bins to production sites and bin locations. Additionally, this manager will supervise inter-building shipping, pick-up, and delivery of nonstandard material and intercompany mail when applicable. This manager will attend meetings and do presentation/reporting when required. This Manager will work closely with Purchasing on shortages and shortage reporting and develop packaging requirements and demand flow strategies with suppliers to allow for direct packing to production requirements and direct delivery systems from supplier to production (Demand Flow). This position typically oversees a team of 5-15 people.
Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:
This position requires a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent, although an Associate’s or higher is preferred. In addition, qualified candidates will have 1-4 years of directly related management experience in inventory, warehouse, and receiving. Materials handling /management experience within the medical device industry, including working with the FDA regarding control of materials for instruments and chemistry, preferred. Qualified candidates must understand inventory control principles, warehouse management, and receiving functions, have experience with using MRP/ERP and Warehouse management software, and the ability to use Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office software.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance and work 75% of time standing and or lifting.
