The Sr Market Access Manager will report to the Director of Market Access and Reimbursement and will work closely with the field sales team and BioMérieux customers to execute market access and reimbursement strategy for BioMérieux’s current and future products within the public and private payer sectors. This position will be the field-based expert on coverage, coding, payer medical policy processes and payment issues and will coordinate field strategies to maximize market access to and reimbursement for BioMérieux’s products.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioMérieux Diagnostics’ Quality System.
• Work with the Director of Market Access and Reimbursement to identify opportunities and execute strategies to drive the market access strategy to pursue coverage and reimbursement from US commercial payers and medical groups through field based activities.
• Profile regional and national payers and HTAs to understand their decision-making processes and develop specific strategies incorporating economic and clinical data supporting the products’ value proposition
• Work closely with BioMérieux Medical Affairs team to develop support information and data to better position BioMérieux’s products in expanding market access
• Attend regional or national professional society and payer meetings/conferences as needed to educate current and potential customers on reimbursement issues and to gain support for market access through policy and/or clinical guideline development.
• Work cross-functionally within field sales, sales leadership, strategic accounts, and marketing to maximize pull-through and leverage available resources for market access.
• Travel with field sales team members to support and educate customers with identified reimbursement challenges and to gain support for payer education strategies.
• Participate in regional and national sales meetings as needed.
• May be assigned additional responsibilities based upon organizational needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Travel required regionally and nationally– 30%


Training and Education:

• This position requires the knowledge and skills normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree preferably with a Science/ healthcare major and/or advanced science, public health or allied healthcare degree. A strong understanding of business management is preferred (MBA or MPH is a plus).

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in health insurance or managed care industry with demonstrated strong payer relationships building and account management experience
• Must possess 5 years knowledge of provider network contracts, medical policy, health economics and health care policy; diagnostic experience preferred.
• Must understand how to impact process with payers for obtaining coverage decisions and advancing medical policy with demonstrated success in obtaining coverage, access, reimbursement from health plans in prior roles
• Familiarity with the in vitro diagnostics and/or medical device industry
• Ability to build and develop customer relationships including the ability to effectively represent BioMerieux and its products to senior levels of management and key thought leaders
• Experience in partnership models with health systems and payers
• Innovative thinking and exceptional business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong understanding of compliance-related concepts including the laws, regulations, and policies that govern marketing and sales activities and the importance of compliance in all job-related functions
• Ability to understand, distill and communicate complex scientific and public health-related concepts
• Demonstrated ability to be successful in consultative selling situations/markets
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Positions are remote, however the majority of accounts will be regionally based; preferably East, Central, Southeast or Salt Lake City.

Physical Requirements:

• Should be able to life 50lbs comfortably
