Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job:

  • Lead Commodities and collaborate with Purchasing Category Managers / Purchasing Management to define and implement bioMerieux’s Purchasing Strategies for their assigned commodities, accountable for their deployment across the Company, within a Global Organization.
  • Ensure that any local activity is conducted in accordance with the Commodity Strategy and Global Purchasing Roadmap. Bring Purchasing support and added values to operations, at site/region level. Facilitate the Local Packaging Purchasing activities

 

Main Accountabilities:

Local (US) role for Secondary Packaging Commodities and for Categories managed as a Buyer:

    • Manage the local suppliers. Ensure compliance of contracts, manages Supplier’s performance.
    • Bring Purchasing support to Manufacturing projects. Identify, promote and drive Purchasing added values within operational topics. Lead Purchasing voice within cross functional Teams.
    • Facilitate the Local Packaging Purchasing activities: data file maintenance, key meetings preparation, budget.
    • Perform Purchasing risk analysis and mitigate Supply risks
    • Support Purchasing Roadmap deployment: Continuous Improvement, Digitalization, CSR,…
    • Guaranty compliance to Global Purchasing process and procedures, local regulations and internal controls, on his/her scope.

 

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Studies-Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business or similar with a concentration in Purchasing preferred

3 to 6 years of experience in Purchasing, preferably in an industrial environment and/or in the Health sector.

  • Skills  and  Qualifications:
    • Functional know-how: Selecting and qualifying suppliers, understanding products/services, preparing & leading negotiations, contract management and legal awareness, target costing, managing  multicultural interfaces;
    • Operational know-how: Drive and influence,  risk management, build trust, professional, drive execution and make decisions.
    • Human know-how: Communicative, team spirit.
