Job Summary:

This marketing role has primary responsibility for development of marketing objectives, strategies, and tactics for the BioFire Pneumonia (PN) Panels  worldwide.  Responsibility includes execution of marketing strategies and tactics and the attainment of marketing objectives. 


Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics’ Quality System.



  • Market research across all regions
  • Scientific and clinical advisory board meetings
  • Marketing contributions to project documentation from project proposal through go-to-market strategy


Develops with minimal supervision:

  • Product definition
  • Messaging and positioning strategy
  • Pricing Strategy


Monitors and generates actionable insights into:

  • Competition
  • Market trends
  • Pricing effectiveness
  • Customer behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes
  • Market opportunities
  • Market research and business intelligence needs


Interfaces / works closely with and/or manages:

  • Global, regional and local marketing colleagues globally
  • Customers
  • Sales force & field employees
  • Internal R&D, Manufacturing, Legal, Quality personnel
  • KOLs and BioFire advocates
  • 3rd party agencies
  • Company executive management
  • May supervise staff, which includes hiring, orienting, onboarding, training, assigning and reviewing work performance, annual work performance appraisals, and discipline. May make recommendations to management regarding employment, performance evaluation, counseling and discipline for employees.
  • Performs work under general supervision.


Supplemental Data:

  • Travels up to 25% of time, domestic and international.


Training & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or business-related field; MBA preferred



  • 4-7 years of successful product management or other relevant experience preferably with diagnostic or medical products
  • Lab experience preferred; not required

  • Knowledge of molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, is highly desired, but not a requirement
  • Possesses working knowledge of marketing regulated clinical diagnostics preferably in the field of infectious disease
  • Ability to adapt go-to-market strategies to variations in markets across the regions
  • Handles basic issues and problems, and refers some complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Interacts and presents technical information to audience with various levels of scientific experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, excel and Word
  • Extensive experience with contact management databases
  • Flexibility to accommodate working hours for interaction with global counterparts, as needed


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to manage physical requirements associated with travel; some positions may be required to travel internationally.  Should be able to safely lift and maneuver up to 40 pounds.
