Position Summary:

bioMerieux has an opening for a Marketing Manager to be based in the Chicago area.


The position of Marketing Manager Industry, Healthcare Americas, directly affects the short and long term sales and strategic objectives of the company as it pertains to growing BioMerieux’s business interests in Endotoxin and Laser Scanning Cytometry (LSC) for End Product and In Process testing in the Pharmaceutical market.  This includes the management of solutions (instruments, reagents, software, etc.) and services related to Endotoxin and LSC testing for the Industry business. The Marketing Manager will also position and promote the entire BioMerieux portfolio specifically to the "Compounding Pharmacies" strategic market segments.


Routine internal contacts with Sales, Customer Service, Customer Support, Field Service, Global Marketing,  Global Strategic Account Managers, Manufacturing, Finance, is required in developing and delivering compelling ‘value propositions’ to the customer. Direct contact with Clients, Key Opinion Leaders and Consultants is also required to consolidate information and help fine-tune the strategy of deployment at the regional level.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Manage Product life cycle of ENDONEXT and SCAN RDI ranges
  • Design, implement, and facilitate an industry marketing plan for Americas that will enhance BIOMERIEUX’s image and position within the Compounding Pharmacies Market segments
  • Support Sales in meeting or exceeding the market or specific segment revenue targets and growth objectives with targeted marketing activities.
  • Supervise and define Market research activities related to the successful implementation of the Marketing Plans.
  • Help maintain business relationships with key contacts within the America’s Industry.
  • Manage or lead the Marketing processes for Endotoxin and Laser Scanning Cytometry Solutions and Services ranges.


Studies & Experience:

  • BS in a Science / Business related field is required; MBA is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of Sales or Marketing specialization. 
  • Ability to demonstrate experience developing and implementing a Marketing Plan is required.
  • Knowledge of the Pharma microbiology / Endotoxin testing is required.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in microbiology is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the BIOMERIEUX Industry product line is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Must have good organization, people, and communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work efficiently and effectively and lead by example.
  • Have the capacity to manage complexity.
  • Problem solving and teamwork abilities; ability to work within or lead a team.
