Position Summary:

The Software Project Lead coordinate development activities for one or more projects for the VITEK 2 System that helps hospitals determine the correct antibiotics to treat millions of infected patients each year. The software delivered to our customers should be developed with the right level of quality, to schedule and in compliance with bioMérieux processes/procedures.


Main Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development activities from the analysis to the testing in an agile/iterative environment
  • Drive estimation activities with the team to establish scope and timelines for the projects.
  • Identify and manage risks to projects and products.
  • Facilitate meetings and present to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Track and report project status and metrics to the various stakeholders.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related scientific discipline, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 or more years of experience of in software development with a first project management experience.
  • Team leading ability, shown by having led a team to work co-operatively with others, continually reviewing objectives and priorities, and accepting collective responsibility.
  • Influencing skills, evidencing ability to gain agreement or acceptance through influence, persuasion or negotiation.
  • Organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to establish plans of action to effectively ensure achievement of results.
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a regulated environment as a member of a product-development organization (medical-device or biotech industry)
  • Ability to work in diverse geographic, cultural and cross-functional environments.
  • Preferred but not required Java / Full Stack/ Object oriented development
