Field System Engineer

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our Benelux Customer Service team!  Reporting to the Field Service Engineer Manager, this position will be based in the Flanders region.

You will be part of our great field service engineering team which is made up of 9 engineers spread across the Benelux territory, who service and maintain our Clinical and Industry customers.

What will your responsibilities be within bioMérieux?

  • Install, maintain and repair bioMérieux systems on customer sites. Organize and prioritize the interventions to meet the engagements to the customers and the company for various field activities: corrective and preventive maintenance, time to fix, field actions. Manage spare parts inventory according quality guidelines.
  • Answer internal & external customer inquiries and ensure compliance with regulatory through timely and accurate documentation
  • Advise, guide and provide the necessary support to customers who contact the Helpdesk. Guarantee an effective answer and follow-up from the first customer contact, possible remote fix to (if needed) triggering an intervention at customer site. Record, analyze and deal with customer complaints and questions. Manage the workshop activities (repairs, calibrations and refurbishments).
  • Ensure proper functioning of equipment installed at customer sites during out of office hours (weekends and evenings) to provide remotely and on-site support. These duties are on a rotational basis with the team (1 week per month).
  • Recommend and inform the sales team regarding on site customer opportunities and needs regarding selling of maintenance contracts, etc


Who are you? 

  • You have a Degree in engineering (electronics, mechanics, or biotechnology) previous experience in a similar position would be a plus
  • You enjoy interacting with customers on a daily basis and are solution oriented
  • You demonstrate strong organizational skills, rigor and autonomy
  • You adapt easily, are flexible and are a team player
  • Good communication skills are a must
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Benelux territory
