Position Summary:

This position will report into the Americas Supply Chain regional team.  It will be in support of the entire Americas region which includes seven subsidiaries: US, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, and Chile.  Additionally, this role also covers a cluster of export distributors for roughly thirty countries.  This is a part time internship-20 hours per week.

 

Responsibilities:

This role will have some routine activities to reoccur over time, which may include:

  • Support the Americas Life Cycle Management roadmap through dedicated forecast analysis and demand review sessions with local teams
  • Developing and/or enhancing KPI tracking tools (scrap, forecast accuracy, OTIF, costs, days on hand) using Tableau
  • Creating training documentation for key Supply Chain business processes
  • Ad Hoc analysis and data extracts to support global and/or local Supply Chain initiatives
  • Working with subsidiary supply chain managers and demand planners to identify and improve operational activities

 

Potential Projects:

In addition to the above routine activities, a project(s) will be assigned to the intern which will vary depending on his or her specific skill sets and desires. 

  • Statistical Forecast optimization: Using historic demand trends and variability factors to determine the best statistical models for a range of low volume products
  • easySAP Universal Languages: Translating easySAP into Spanish for our LATAM team so that this tool becomes a more universal tool for our entire audience
  • S&OP Enhancement: Designing and automating a template to use in external distributor S&OP meetings to trigger discussion and drive demand signal changes
  • “What-if analysis” tool for determining cost savings or revenue increase based on supply chain topics: (a) forecast tie to scrap or revenue, (b) order frequency and mode of transportation, (c) safety stocks, with short shelf life focus

 

Studies and Experience:

Program requirements: Students currently enrolled in a degree program at a recognized institution of higher learning, have reached Sophomore level status or later in school, and have a minimum of 3.0 GPA or above. It is recommended that each internship last a minimum of 8 weeks.

 

If the internship will include access to the manufacturing areas of the company, the student must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Spanish or French speaking is not required but considered a plus.  
  • Must be Microsoft Office proficient. 
  • SAP ECC or SAP APO DP knowledge is a plus.
  • Tableau experience preferred

  • Comfortable taking a lead in an international setting
  • Time management and the ability to multitask are important elements to the role
