What will be your missions at bioMérieux?

 

Reporting to the Associate Director Product Development & Projects Sourcing EMEA, within the Corporate Purchasing team, and with the support of the Purchasing team, your main missions will be :

 

  • Pro-Actively represent the Purchasing function within development projects related to new bioMérieux products or improvements of existing products (Instruments, Software, reagents, consumables) from the pre-feasibility phase to market launch.
  • Apprehend marketing and business strategy in order to find out the best sourcing & purchasing options in the frame of new product development projects
  • Analyze, compare and challenge the technical solutions proposed by R&D to propose alternative solutions in order to improve the margin and to lower purchasing & suppliers risks (project and commodities). lead and formalize the approaches relating to value analysis, design-to-cost, TCO analysis and life cycle management of components/raw materials.
  • Select suppliers according to the Project Purchase process, carry out Make or/and Buy analyses, identify and implement actions to mitigate supplier risks. Guarantee the performance/quality/cost/service objectives for the project teams while respecting the Purchasing strategies: Corporate Purchasing and Commodities Purchasing.
  • Negotiate, implement contract, manage relationship with the selected suppliers & partners, then carry out the transfer to commodity buyers at the market launch phase.
  • Promote and contribute to the Corporate Social Responsibility approach within product development projects: Eco design, sustainable sourcing, local/green sourcing, CO2 impact, green software.
  • Collaborate with all departments that can contribute to the development of new products: Purchasing, R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal.

 

 

Who are you ?

 

With an engineer/Master 2 degree (Generalist/ Chemistry/ Biomedical Engineering/ Biology) or Pharmacist or business school completed by a Master 2 in sourcing & procurement, you have a minimum of 5 years' experience in Purchasing in an international environment.

You have a good potential to develop within an international group with a public health mission. Self-starter, organized, committed to action, autonomous, you know how to manage priorities and smoothly champion your recommendations in order to effectively represent the Purchasing function within project teams and beyond. Rigorous, you know how to convince and influence with pugnacity while maintaining a fluid and courteous relationship.

  • Fluent English required
  • Good command of IT tools incl.Excel & Power Point), SAP a plus.
  • Travel: 10% of time (France and international)
