Position Summary:

The Manufacturing support inventory control position shall include all aspects of inventory for manufacturing and packaging operations from identifying, ordering, reconciliation of supplies/parts/materials/PPE e.t.c, storage, arrangement, distribution and record keeping thereby maintaining accountability in a structured manner.

 

The Manufacturing Support Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for

  • management of inventory supplies and  availability of inventory
  • define safety stock level necessary to maintain production
  • procurement of inventory coordination of delivery and other logistics support
  • preparation and maintrence of detailed inventory reports, manage storage locations and utilize SAP and other software as necessary to facilitate inventory management

 

Responsibilities:

 

Inventory Control

  • Develop and maintain a database for inventory control and management to accurately monitor inventory levels, all key functions related to inventory transactions and fully support audit activities as requested.
  • Execute daily operations related to inventory control.
  • Manage stock of PPEs and other supplies in Manufacturing and Packaging areas to support production in various areas
  • Ensure that procurement and distribution of inventory are in compliance with FDA Regulations, GMP, ISO, Department Procedures and Manufacturing Directions as necessary
  • Conduct frequent cycle count of inventory to verify records

 

Procurement

  • Create, process and close Purchase orders using SAP E-Proc system
  • Order inventory as needed at lowest possible cost and verify receipt of incoming materials against purchase orders.
  • Verify receipt of incoming materials against Purchase Orders.
  • Ensure that Manufacturers/suppliers are bioMérieux certified and support certification of new manufacturers/suppliers as needed.

 

Communication

  • Coordinate with management to ensure availability of required supplies
  • Communicate information effectively and succinctly (facts, ideas, messages) and in an organized manner real-time.
  • Maintain open and positive communication with manufacturers, vendors, management and technicians

 

Other

  • Utilize a variety of software systems to support daily work activities (e.g. MES, TrackWise, LiveLink/DocLink, Compliance Wire etc.).
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management

 

Studies and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in lieu of Associate's degree
  • Level 1:

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing
    • Ability to make short term impacting decisions with little to no supervisory review and long term impacting decisions with supervisor review
  • Level 2:
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing environment required
    • Ability to make long term impacting decisions with little to no supervisory review
    • Determine frequency of usage of materials/supplies in order to reduce waste as needed
    • Develop and implement strategies to manage inventory turn-over and stocking requirements.
  • Experience in production/maintenance environment and GMP preferred
  • Experience in Inventory management or related position preferred

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to stand or walk for long period of time
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Detail oriented, highly motivated and self-driving
  • Ability to work individually and within teams
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Must hold to the highest level of accountability and integrity

 

Physical Requirements:

Constant walking and moving of materials, working in cold storage rooms occasionally, regular use of computer, maintain multiple parts areas, regular interaction with manufacturing and maintenance teams, may be exposed to handling of chemicals or hazardous materials and may be required to wear various types of PPE.
