 Position Summary:


Under the direction of the Manager, Technical Applications and Deployment, Health Information Solutions & Services Team, within the US Clinical Sales Organization, the Project Deployment Manager is responsible for leading a team to deliver project(s) that span across one or more business units on one or multiple sites in the Americas Region. Manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to stage gate quality throughout the full project life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

The Project Deployment Manager will also support the organization in the development of documentation, technical procedures, and user support guides for the management of project deployments.  The candidate will also play a key role in local business development activities and will be an integral member of the commercial project team, providing the basis for project management insights necessary to support our industry’s needs for better infectious disease management.


Primary Duties:

  1. Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that involve one or multiple departments
  2. Provide leadership for project team by building and motivating team members on multiple sites in the Americas Region to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  3. Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously
  4. Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
  5. Report on project success criteria results, metrics, risk
  6. Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
  7. Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  8. Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project
  9. Estimate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes
  10. Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chairs the project management team meetings
  11. Monitor Project Management performance in the Americas Region and contribute to performance reviews
  12. Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership
  13. Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs
  14. Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address customers goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
  15. Manage project scope and changes
  16. Act as an internal quality control check for projects
  17. Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution
  18. Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration or litigation, as needed
  19. Support formal/informal schedules to manage the engagement contract
  20. Define the Statement of Work and User Requirement Specifications for the project
  21. Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues
  22. Set and continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverable with team members and stakeholders
  23. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  24. Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables
  25. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, customer(s) and key stakeholders
  26. Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project and program team, analyze results and troubleshoot problem areas
  27. Define success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project and program life cycle
  28. Identify and develop trusted adviser relationship with project and program stakeholders, sponsors and university stakeholders
  29. Manage, coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project management team
  30. Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication
  31. Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards
  32. Manage project and program issues and risks to mitigate impact to baseline
  33. Continue professional development in order to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods and best practices
  34. Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques
  35. Proven success in providing on site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  36. Perform performance reviews of direct reports and staff development
  37. Monitor the performance of staff
  38. Establish practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  39. Other duties as assigned


Additional Information:

  1. The position is responsible for managing a team of project managers tasked to meet target launch/project timelines while operating within expense guidelines as set forth by the Manager, Technical Applications & Deployment for the said projects
  2. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Management of Project Management team focused on the completion of projects within the agreed upon guidelines + manage and implement of key projects assigne
  3. Key Contacts (internal/external) and Interfaces: Sales, customers, all US Commercial Operations department heads and members of their teams.


Training and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science/business and/or medical device background preferred
  • Project management experience related to product deployment and launch, business process optimization
  • Experience in managing a team, mentoring direct reports



  1. 10+ years’ experience Project Management with a proven ability to engage with Senior Management and Project Stakeholders.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilites: 

  1. Knowledge and application of a disciplined project management process (Six Sigma and Project Management Professional certifications are a plus).
  2. Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively communicate and build relationships with a broad spectrum of audiences at all organizational levels.
  3. Sound technical aptitude and proven ability to grasp general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies with superior computer usage skills.
  4. Strong competencies in planning, project management, and organization with the ability to lead multiple activities and resources while maintaining a focus on quality.
  5. Solid analytical capabilities with a deep understanding of data management
  6. Business acumen along with demonstrated work ethic, integrity, and professional conduct and appearance.
  7. Ability to work well under pressure
  8. Good interpersonal and conflict management skills
  9. Team player attitude: ability to build consensus among team members/collaborate with other team members (discuss previous successes)
  10. Working knowledge of computers; Microsoft WORD, Excel,  PowerPoint knowledge is required; Microsoft Access knowledge preferred but not required.
  11. Valid driver’s license required
  12. Travel may be required
