We are seeking an Industry Director Adriatic Cluster to join our EMEA Industry team!

 

In this role, you will report directly to the Senior VP Industrial Microbiology EMEA and functionally to the VP of the Adriatic Cluster.  This position covers the geographic perimeter of Italy, Greece, Serbia and Adriatic distribution countries with approximately 7 direct managerial reports with their teams (approximately 25 total).
 

Your main mission will be to represent bioMérieux Industry in the Adriatic Cluster and be responsible for designing, managing, and executing its commercial operation strategy with full Industry P&L responsibility.  As a member of the EMEA Leadership team, you will play a key role in developing the sustainable and profitable growth of the region and will work closely with your EMEA peers.


This position will be based in Italy with regular travel expected to our office in Firenze and also throughout the Adriatic Cluster.

 

What will your responsibilities be within bioMérieux?

  • Cascade vision and translate Industry strategy into relevant marketing, customer service and sales plan at cluster level.
    • Build relevant 5 year plan and annual sales budget reflecting bioMérieux Industry Transformation Strategy.
    • Collect and share market knowledge and implement a marketing strategy in accordance with global and regional strategy.
    • Actively contribute to Strategic & Key Accounts growth.
    • Drive sales operations, monitor expenses and improve DSO.
  • Manage Industry P&L
    • Achieve growth and margins targets: ensure monitoring by countries, profitable growth and maximization of the market segments, the product portfolio and balanced growth for all countries and all product lines.
    • Run a profitable Business : arbitrate resources allocation beyond countries’ borders, implement commercial operations initiatives (CRM, CVM, Sales Capabilities…) and monitor expenses.
  • Lead the team
    • Empower, coach and develop commercial operations teams, making decision based on performance assessment.
    • Design, implement and maintain an agile and flexible organization with the aim to create value for the customer.
    • Lead transformation and give sense by cascading information and explaining strategy.
  • Manage cluster/local interfaces, ensuring good functioning :
    • Define industry objectives and service levels for back office and support functions in order to support growth and meet customer satisfaction, jointly with Cluster VP.
    • Ensure regular follow up.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and group policies.


Who are you?

  • Master’s Degree in management and/or business administration
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a managerial role in operational sales or marketing, previous experience with distribution management would be appreciated.  Knowledge of the industry market (food, pharma) would also be a plus.
  • International experience with demonstrated intercultural understanding and appreciation of diversity
  • Leadership and managerial capabilities including people development
  • High level of adaptability in an agile and constantly changing environment
  • Ability to initiate and promote change
  • Fluent in Italian and English
