Job Summary

This is a full time non-exempt position. This position is part of a team working to support the efforts of the research laboratories so they can continue to function safely and efficiently.  This position normally receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instruction on new assignments.  Works under the supervision of senior laboratory support staff, reports directly to the Laboratory Operations Manager and indirectly to the Director of Biochemistry Operations and Research.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics’ Quality System.
  2. Assist with maintaining laboratory stocks and supplies.
  3. Assist with routine cleaning of laboratory spaces.
  4. Assist with the handling and disposal of laboratory waste.
  5. Assist with equipment maintenance and calibration.
  6. Assist with laboratory notebook archiving.
  7. Perform additional tasks as need to maintain laboratory operation, cleanliness, and efficiency.
  8. Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

 Training and Education

Requires high school diploma or equivalent. 

Experience

This is an entry-level role.  No previous experience is required. Some lab experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The qualified applicant must be able to maintain a regular work schedule, be organized, and take responsibility for identifying and resolving issues as they arise. General knowledge with computers and a working knowledge of Microsoft office products is required. Must have reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to safely lift and maneuver 50lbs.

Must be able to work standing for long periods of time.

Must be able to work on a ladder or stepstool.
