Position Summary:

The Lab Optimization Consultant is primarily responsible for participating in and delivering Laboratory Optimization services to bioMérieux customers.  The delivery is primarily performed using the Kaizen format in clinical laboratories through Lean Six Sigma methodology.   You will work with customers to extract data from various sources, analyze the data, and deliver the results to the customer.  You will work extensively with customers to understand their current process while collaborating in cross-functional team to develop and offer viable solutions for process improvement.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Laboratory Optimization Solutions and projects
  • Understand and shape client requirements into Laboratory Optimization solutions
  • Support the definitions of a Laboratory Optimization solution portfolio for revenue targeted at the three client market segments (clinical, biopharmaceutical, and agri-food)
  • Build and maintain the relationship to promote change, ensuring customer relationships are strengthened to achieve and /or exceed optimization in the workflow
  • Build and develop a relationship with the sales team to promote Lab Optimization services with instrument sales.
  • Use CRM to manage pipeline, events, tasks and all LO processes as directed
  • Meet a minimum of 80% of time supporting the delivery of projects, 20% preparing for projects
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Studies and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, and/or Medical Technology degree/certification highly preferred
  • At least 3 years of clinical laboratory leadership or operational experience - microbiology required.
  • Working knowledge of cost-accounting/finances as it relates to clinical labs preferred
  • At least 1 year of laboratory consulting experience strongly preferred: Lab Workflow, operational efficiency, workflow standardization,
  • Some experience with change management, able to influence change

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively communicate and build relationships with a broad spectrum of audiences at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving ability; Able analyze data proficiently
  • Ability to build consensus. A strong, self-confident, and decisive leader with good listening skills.
  • Self-starter with drive and high initiative. Judgment and strategic thinker
  • Very good organization, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of bioMérieux product ranges/services/solutions.
  • Proficient with desktop applications (MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint,) and Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts and graphs), Minitab for data analysis preferred
  • Team player with a high degree of authenticity, creativity and emotional intelligence.
  • Business acumen along with demonstrated work ethic, integrity, and professional conduct and appearance.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in ambiguous environments.
  • Team player attitude: ability to build consensus among team members/collaborate with other team members.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
  • Domestic travel required 75% of time
