Our Africa Region is looking for a Sr Director & General Manager for the subsidiary in Egypt that will represent the company in the country and is responsible for overseeing, managing, and executing on the selling strategies for the country with full P&L responsibility. The scope of the role includes overseeing, in a matrix environment, all local sales, marketing, customer service, quality, support functions for the Units except Industry. He/She will Report to the Sr VP Africa Region. The position will be based in Cairo, Egypt.  


What will be your responsibilities within bioMérieux?


  • Develops a business strategy and ensures the team delivers customer satisfaction, above market growth rates in terms of product market share, manages average selling price (ASP) and provides incremental revenue to assist the organization in meeting its stated revenue and growth objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable legislation and group policies proactively addressing compliance/internal controls in all aspects of the business operation.
  • Ensures good functioning of the quality management system and lead Operational Performance: Profitability, Supply Chain, Customer Service.
  • Ensures appropriate resources and processes to meets the business objectives and to support distributors in the country.
  • Represents the company with Governmental Authorities, Business Associations and International Organizations in the country.





  • Minimum : 8 to 10 years of experience
  • A minimum of years of sales/ marketing/ commercial operations management experience, with at least two years of General Management/P&L leadership experience within a diagnostics or life sciences company. 
  • Direct and indirect teams (manager of managers)
  • Good knowledge of the IVD market and its regulatory requirements; Ability to develop and guide an organization during periods of rapid growth. 
  • Strategic thinker with understanding of the competitor marketplace. A track record of success in expanding markets, increasing sales and enhancing profitability. 
  • Successful experience in building a relationship with Health Authorities and Industry association bodies.
  • Demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks, analyze problems, develop solution alternatives, and implement tactics needed to secure positive outcomes.
