Formulation Technician

Position Summary:

The Formulation Technician position is responsible for the completion of departmental GMP documentation and the operation and minor troubleshooting of the compounding area. The Formulation Technician will also be responsible for performing and/or overseeing AQL inspections, and product reworks in a cGMP compliant manner, responsible for the inspection and cleaning of Compounding equipment. Additionally, this individual will complete all applicable paperwork associated with batch records, reworks and equipment cleaning logs.

 

We are hiring for the 3:00 am to 1:30 pm M-Thu shift.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operates and performs minor troubleshooting of Compounding processes & equipment with minimal supervision within a team environment
  • Processing tasks may include equipment cleaning, start-up, loading, changeover, set up and/or shut down, clearing faults/jams, scrap tracking and documentation. 
  • Minor troubleshooting may include technical assessments, lubricating, clearing faults/jams and/or equipment crash recovery.   
  • Ensures that the product meets quality requirement and Processing equipment meets or exceeds the productivity and yield goals to support business demands.
  • Ensures that documentation is accurate and timely, to minimize documentation error that will delay product release.
  • Train new employee when necessary and review and maintained up to date personal training metrics.
  • Tasks are to be performed in a safe timely manner to ensure product quality, reliability and minimize the incidence of unplanned downtime.
  • Required to use personal protection equipment as needed to perform routine and non-routine duties

Studies and Experience:

  • Required:  High School Diploma or 2+ years’ experience as Processing/manufacturing operator; preferably in the pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing/packaging industry and/ or lab environment.
  • Assoc Degree in a life science with 1+ years’ experience working in manufacturing or lab environment Preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a GMP environment. Laboratory skills are a plus

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable of batching and mixing operations and equipment
  • Position requires strong attention to detail, multi-tasking and GMP experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office plus good math skills
  • Ability to routinely lift 20 lbs.
  • Required to routinely lift 20 lbs.
  • Required to work in team environment
