Job Summary
This is a full-time non-exempt position. The position is within the Molecular Systems Department and is part of a team that works closely with Production and Quality Control to identify root cause of product anomalies, to develop mitigations and to support process improvements. To accomplish these goals a variety of analytical and enzymatic techniques are used to measure PCR reagents. Performs general lab duties, designs and conducts experiments, collects and analyzes data and keeps an accurate record of all work done in accordance with the quality system. Other activities may involve supporting creation of technical reports, investigation summaries and protocols. Normally receives no instructions on routine work, general instructions on all new assignments.

Qualifications
Training and Education
BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field. Relevant work experience in molecular biology or analytical chemistry is desired.
Experience
Requires 2 years of experience in diagnostics or related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Given the nature of this role, strong preference will be given to applicants with a basic understanding of PCR and related chemistry. Excellent wet chemistry skills desired including pipetting, volumetric measurements, serial dilutions, use of laboratory balances, technical proficiency with good qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills, and computer literacy and proficiency are preferred. Understanding or experience with method development is desirable. Must have good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others. Should have the desire to exercise independent thought.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to safely lift and maneuver 60 lbs.
