Senior Director, Reagent Engineering

Position Summary:

The Senior Director Reagent Engineering will be responsible for oversight of the Reagent Engineering Equipment Project team. This team is responsible for the manufacturing equipment used to produce a complex medical device.  The team provides project management and technical expertise related to the manufacturing equipment.   

 

Primary Duties:

  • Supervise a staff of Project Managers and Engineers including assignment of work, approval of expenses, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Assign engineering resources to projects to optimize resources and ensure required expertise.
  • Develop and manage equipment projects as needed to meet production demand and to resolve systemic issues that lead to finished product scrap and rework.
  • Support all levels of management in planning for equipment, resources, and correcting existing discrepancies.
  • Prepare and/or review and monitor controls on scheduling and project cost.
  • Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment.
  • Promote the importance of using data to identify reliability issues and to prioritize improvements.
  • Evaluate new technologies.
  • Support the change management process.

 

Position Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field preferred or minimum of 16+ years of engineering management experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in management role
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment in an engineering or reliability role.
  • 5+ years of experience working with automated processes and machinery.
  • Demonstrated experience managing CAPEX projects of greater than $10M.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate professionally with all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively complete projects in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of automated manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FDA/ISO regulations and equipment validation preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical analysis and problem-solving skills.
