Position Summary:
The Molecular Systems Research Associate I or II (RA I/II) position is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position is part of a team working on various laboratory procedures involving nucleic acid isolation methods and PCR under general guidance. This person will work closely with other research associates or scientists in the research lab. Additional duties include:
This position requires basic laboratory technical and organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving. Applicants with molecular biology experience, research and development lab experience, and BSL experience will be preferred. Familiarity with nucleic acid extraction and PCR is a plus.

Training and Education:
A B.S. in molecular biology, biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field is desired, but exceptional applicants with an Associate’s degree will be given consideration.
Experience:
Required: One to two years of research and development experience in an industry or molecular biology laboratory setting. One year of experience working in a BSL setting with BSL 2 samples or organisms.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. The ideal candidate will demonstrate skills in basic laboratory technician practices (pipetting, materials handling, contamination control). A basic understanding of PCR and nucleic acid extraction is preferred.
