Description

Position Summary

Working under the direction of the Digital Marketing Manager, the Digital Content Strategist II will develop and execute content strategies that raise awareness, drive traffic, and generate leads. The content strategist's responsibilities include determining which formats best communicate various types of messaging, identifying ways to increase brand awareness, conducting keyword research, and analyzing performance.

Primary Duties

  • Developing clear and engaging content that is consistent with the company's brand image and addresses both business goals and consumer needs. With a key focus on blog and social media content.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders on content types and messaging.
  • Analyzing content marketing data to identify trends and anticipate consumer needs.
  • Performing content audits to assess how well existing content is performing.
  • Performing content gap analyses to determine what type of content is missing and what is needed.
  • Delegating tasks to writers and editors and providing feedback, particularly on best practices, etc.
  • Creating, adjusting, and managing the editorial calendar.
  • Developing a solid understanding of the target audience through online and traditional market research in collaboration with team and broader marketing department.

Supplemental Data

The Digital Content Strategist II works independently on and in a support role to their manager and senior staff on the completion of projects assigned to the Digital Marketing team. The Digital Content Strategist II performs a variety of different projects that include contributing long-term campaigns as well as one-off initiatives.

 

The Digital Content Strategist II supports all digital marketing projects for the Marketing team. The Digital Content Strategist II should be comfortable condensing information into a cohesive plan and be able to effectively communicate and execute digital marketing plans under the direction of their manager or other senior staff. 

Qualifications

Training and Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred but equivalent professional experience acceptable.
  • This position requires the knowledge and skills normally acquired through 3-5 years’ work experience with a digital marketing agency or in-house digital marketing position.
  • Demonstrated proficiency completing high-level Digital Marketing projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Will work experience be accepted in lieu of a degree? Yes
  • If yes, number of years of experience accepted in lieu of degree and type: 6 years

Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in digital marketing
  • Proven content strategy and project management experience.
  • Sound knowledge of content management systems, keyword research tools, social media platforms, search engine optimization (SEO), and search engine marketing (SEM).
  • Intermediate experience creating media specific documents such as media plans and playbook, objectives, and strategies decks.
  • Intermediate ability to focus and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate analytical skills in interpreting digital advertising analytics data, formulating conclusions, developing strategies based on analysis.
  • Intermediate written and verbal English communication skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like.
  • Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery.
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
