What will be your responsibilities at bioMerieux?

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Marketing, this UK & Ireland role is responsible for marketing activities for a selection of BioFire product ranges, specifically reagents for Meningitis/Encephalitis, Joint Infection and Gastro-Intestinal Infections, the BioFire Torch instrument, software and related services. This Product Manager is responsible for designing, adapting and implementing a market strategy to ensure continued growth and profitability for bioMérieux amid a dynamic and competitive marketplace and will work alongside other Product Managers working with BioFire Respiratory and Blood Culture Identification ranges.

Key responsibilities include

  • Marketing support for the UK and Ireland and contribution towards the achievement of commercial targets for their product range through localised strategic marketing (Marketing Excellence Process), as well as operational product management activities (forecast, allocations etc., as part of supply chain management, preparation of launch files).

  • Development of Marketing Plans in conjunction with local and regional Product Managers. To prepare and propose commercial targets for the product range for considered review and approval. Management and control of costs, revenues and profitability for the product range.

  • Spend time in the field on a regular basis (40-50% of time) subject to operational demands, working both independently and together with the commercial team, market access and medical affairs in order to prepare compelling and credible ‘why buy’ messaging and argumentation to all stakeholders. This includes clinicians, policy makers, c-suite, procurement and national healthcare leads.

  • Support the other functions within the organisation, in order to back up the offer designed by Marketing;  check that the plan and organisation of these functions are adequate to deliver the designed offer. (sales forecasts, logistic, sales administration etc.).

  • Launch of new products/instrument/services following the launch template.  Take ownership of these launches and when ready transfer the knowledge to the sales force.

  • Partner with Commercial teams, Local, Global and EME Marketing, and to contribute and participate in UK Cluster and Corporate meetings, local customer, user group and international congresses and symposia. Develop a network with Key Opinion Leaders and Key vision Leaders  and act as an ambassador for bioMérieux with internal and external customers.

 

About the ideal candidate

 

  • Strong clinical and scientific background with degree level education. Additional post graduate degree is highly desirable.

  • Several years relevant industry experience in a customer facing role is essential. Experience in healthcare sales, clinical marketing and/or market access or HEOR activities is highly desirable.

  • Current Industry knowledge and understanding of our customers (public/private laboratories) & local reimbursement mechanisms as appropriate, operating within a highly regulated CE/IVD compliant diagnostic marketplace. Aware of market trends and changes in diagnostic testing and national healthcare provision.

  • Ability to discuss with KOL and KVL as peers and to design and deliver presentations and organise local meetings and events. Existing network of appropriate KOLs and KVLs highly desirable.

  • Comfortable working within an international matrix organization. Emotionally intelligent, flexible team player, analytical in thinking with a customer focus whilst being result oriented.

  • Strong communication skills thus being able to share product and market knowledge and  enthuse the sales team. Very high level of organization,  planning and time management skills is essential.

  • The Product Manager needs to work with a high level of autonomy and also be comfortable working as part of a team
