GENERAL KNOWLEDGE

CONTEXT OF THE JOB AND MAJOR CHALLENGES

• The Mechanical Engineer will work inside Mechanical Design department; he/she will be involved in mechanical design  & industrialization activities for the development of  new product and for the maintenance of launched product.

• Mechanical Engineer will evaluate the right technology to produce components with the right level of quality and at the right cost; he/she will contribute in the production of prototypes in the internal workshop.

• Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the selection of HW architectural solutions.

MAJOR TASKS

• Contribution in feasibility activities for the development of new products and in the definition of system/sub-assembly mechanical architecture

• Design and industrialization of mechanical instrument/sub-assembling /components

• Management of external partners

• Estimation of component cost and related technological investment cost

• Setup and programming of standard CNC (milling and turning machining), 3D printer and waterjet machine for the realization of mechanical prototypes

• Assembling of instrument/subassemblies prototypes.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar

• Knowledge of technological process for manufacturing of mechanical components

• Knowledge of English language

• Experience in Mechanical design and/or  CNC programming

• Knowledge of CAD (Solidworks, Creo or similar)

• Knowledge of PDM software (Windchill or similar) is considered a plus
