Description

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Supports automation aspects of consumable product manufacturing process.
  2. Works with vendors to optimize product performance and recommend new technologies.
  3. Collects, analyzes, and reporting of data to determine performance of the product.
  4. Builds relationships both internally and externally as a member of a cross-functional team.
  5. Troubleshooting and maintenance of manufacturing equipment
  6. Assisting with NCR investigations, write-ups, and product dispositions.
  7. Implements best practices and corrective actions.
  8. Identifying previously unknown process variables and implementing best practices.
  9. Performs FMEA to identify root causes of problems and present possible solutions.
  10. Contributes to solving complex manufacturing engineering problems.
  11. Makes design and technical decisions subject to review by Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
  12. Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics’ Quality System.
  13. Generates variety of technical documentation including WIDs, technical reviews, studies, and executive summaries.
  14. Performs primary duties in a clean room environment.
  15. Develops and executes validation of new equipment and processes consistent with FDA standards.
Travel: some travel required.
Team: usually works on a team with several technicians, engineers and a project manager.

Training and Education:

Required: Bachelors in Engineering or related discipline
Preferred: M.S. or higher in Engineering or related discipline

Individuals with an Associates degree with 15+ years of experience in automation engineering support role may also be considered.

  • Studio 5000
  • Multi-axis motion control
  • SPC

Physical Requirements: 

Able to safely lift 50 pounds.
