Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Communications, North America, the role will support the VP/GM of Clinical Operations, North America, and will be a member of the regional Clinical Operations Leadership Team (COLT).

 

  • Raise awareness of the company’s purpose, global strategic priorities and focus on helping create a healthier world;
  • Educate, engage, align, and motivate team members to achieve the strategic priorities of Clinical Operations North America, to serve customers and patients and drive profitable growth;
  • Plan and execute an industry key influencer focused social media program for the VP/GM, Clinical Operations, North America and the COLT. This includes platform strategy, editorial calendar planning, content creation and publication, monitoring, metrics, and routine reports.
  • Serve and support the internal communication needs of the COLT and strategic partners (marketing, medical and regulatory affairs, human resources, etc.); and,
  • Drive brand stewardship through education and standards compliance;
  • Provide support for major projects, programs, and initiatives within the business, such as annual and regional sales meetings, product launches, trade shows and other customer and patient-focused events.
  • This individual will contribute to the development and deployment of a comprehensive, regional communications strategy, as a member of the Corporate Communications North America team.

 

Studies and Experience:

  • Masters or bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or journalism from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in a communications role with a large, multinational employer.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Creative, highly motivated, willing to take risks, and driven to achieve high levels of output. 
  • Work collaboratively with communications and business leaders in regional, functional, and business groups.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain strong levels of credibility with all levels throughout the company.
  • Maintain on-time delivery and quality of communications they manage.
  • Function as a trusted advisor to Clinical Operations senior leaders.
  • Work collaboratively with the Corporate Communications team.
  • Project optimism and composure under pressure.
  • Influence people, often without formal authority, to drive change.
  • Both lead and follow as a trusted team member.
  • Be proactive in recognizing and addressing Clinical Operations issues and needs.

 

In addition, needs to have:

  • Knowledge of communications theory and practice: understands communications as a two-way process and its use in influencing perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors; broad exposure to and understanding of the integrated disciplines of the communication function (i.e., media relations, employee communications, branding and corporate identity, financial communications, marketing communications, community relations, etc.); ability to provide communications counsel to the COLT leadership team.
  • Strategic communications planning skills: able to: define communications objectives that are aligned and in support of business objectives; analyze and interpret variables to develop a framework for strategic internal communications; define measurable objectives; design and conduct both quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Project management skills: able to: lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects according to established processes; serve as a consultant for internal and external customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills: able to: synthesize complex information; meet the needs of a variety of target audiences; generate effective and compelling content for a variety of vehicles; develop and deliver effective presentations.
  • Knowledge of graphic design and production: understands graphic design including composition, color, imagery, motion, and sound across the spectrum of communications vehicles and production processes for those vehicles.
  • Knowledge of new communications technology: successful with digital media and willing to experiment with new, emerging platforms.
