Operations Manager-Parts (MRO)

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that a division of the company is meeting goals that will contribute to the overall success of the company. This position will be able to effectively manage a wide range of responsibilities. Additional functions for the Business Unit Manager include but are not limited to; managing a Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) storeroom, assisting with scheduling the preventative maintenance activities, supporting the departments new employee onboarding/training, and creating/managing the department budget. Working with site continuous improvement team and managing department CI projects.

 

PRIMARY Duties

  1. MRO Storeroom
    • Own/operate storeroom as a business by maintain accurate records in the Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMs) / System Analysis Program Development (SAP)
    • Oversee, standardize, and continually improve storeroom activities including buying, receiving, inventory controls, physical inventory counts, safety standards, and resource planning to ensure accurate, in-stock inventory and timely issue resolution.
    • Manage all storeroom related processes, including accurate information when new equipment/parts transferred to become active in the system
    • Organization of inventory salvage parts and over stock including to keep area in storeroom clean and 5s
    • Create PO’s for spare parts and capex material, when applicable
    • Perform required cycle counts and KPIs in SAP and Blue Mountain RAM, when applicable
    • Coordinate with Blue Mountain admin to adjust any CMMs needs for inventory applications
    • MRO inventory optimization and other information to support business decisions and organize information for audits, where applicable

 

  1. Department Budget
    • Coordinates meetings with management on current and future department budgets
    • Analyzes spending on equipment rebuilds
    • Forecast expenditures
    • Generate reports across maintenance categories such as asset availability, materials usage, material costs, and trending to preventative negative results
    • Ensure equipment history has cost association

 

SECONDARY DUTIES

  1. Work with management to assist with assigning Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities
  2. Create parts kits and pull parts for upcoming PMs, when applicable
  3. Support safety activities such as safety audits and adherence of wearing personal protective equipment.
  4. Identify and help resolve recurring maintenance problems.
  5. Be accessible to people on the plant floor to discuss problems and ideas.
  6. Maintain positive relationships with Card Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Facilities.
  7. Work overtime as needed to ensure the required needs are met.
  8. Consult with other maintenance personnel as warranted to discuss issues that affect the operations of the maintenance department.
  9. Make sure to complete compliance and portal training on time.
  10. Reasonable, reliable attendance and punctuality is an essential job function required for this position.
  11.  Be cross functional and support unplanned activities for the department.

 

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  1. Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of experience in a MRO Storeroom or similar environment OR a High School Diploma with 5 years of experience in a MRO Storeroom or similar environment 
  2.  3 years of experience in warehouse(inventory), accounting, or manufacturing setting.
  3. Flexibility and time management best practices- ability to prioritize.
  4. Ability to direct work (supervise tasks for completion).
  5. Knowledge of manufacturing equipment involving mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic

          hardware

       6. Knowledge of material management planning and scheduling principles.

       7. Computer program functional knowledge including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
