Description

Job Summary

Installs, maintains, and repairs heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Monitors HVAC systems and operations and ensures that routine preventive maintenance is performed according to established schedules. Checks, repairs and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes, and other functional components of the system. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Adapts procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position. Duties and tasks reflect variety and complexity. Assignments can be broad in nature and may require originality and ingenuity. May serve as a resource to others in the resolution of problems and issues. Works under general supervision. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. May orient, train, assign and check the work of lower-level employees.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics’ Quality System.
  2. Support general facilities activities in all areas of HVAC and other areas as required.
  3. Perform all job duties under the direction and supervision of higher-level staff.
  4. Install, repair, and replace building HVAC equipment.
  5. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
  6. Inspects facilities and equipment.
  7. Fill in with light janitorial support as needed.
  8. Provide excellent customer service.
  9. Work effectively with outside vendors and contractors.
  10. Communicate effectively and professionally.
  11. Cooperate with other technicians in completing assigned job duties.
  12. Work from drawings, email, electronic systems and/or verbal instructions using a variety of hand and power tools.
  13. Safely operate company vehicles.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

 

Training and Education

High School diploma or equivalent. Vocational training in a related field preferred.

Holds appropriate licenses as may be required by law.

Experience

  1. Minimum of 4 years of related HVAC experience and/or training, experience with commercial equipment preferred.
  2. Valid Utah’s driver’s license.
  3. Clean driving record.
  4. Blueprint reading for building systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Good communication, both written and verbal. 
  2. Excellent customer service skills. 
  3. Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements

  1. Will be required to work/drive in adverse weather conditions (e.g. rain, snow, cold, heat, etc.).
    Must be able to safely lift 75lbs without assistance including the ability to lift 50lbs or more overhead.
  2. Must be able to work 75% of the time while standing and/or actively working.
  3. Ability to follow clean room gowning protocols and move throughout the facility.
  4. Ability to go up and down ladders.
