Description of Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst participates in design, development, maintenance, and support of complex business intelligence applications and solutions. This includes development of verification tests to ensure data functionality and integrity, and utilization of data mining and data storage techniques to assist resources throughout the organization in the visualization and interpretation of data.
Analyst will be capable of understanding complex ERP, CRM and additional systems data infrastructure and how it relates to operations system data to provide value to the organization through data query generation, analysis, modeling, and communication.
Analyst is responsible to identify data analysis and reporting needs within organization in effort to provide data support, data analysis, and/or reporting solutions in response. Includes development of standard or custom reports, queries, or dashboards that access and consolidate information from a variety of data sources and provides ongoing support for data users.
Analyst will work on several projects simultaneously, utilizing several data sources to complete projects. Analyst may interact with executive level management to present BI data that will impact high level decisions affecting business. Analyst must have the ability to work as part of a team. Effective time management, analytical thinking skills, organization skills, and the ability to communicate effectively is important in role.
Primary Duties
1. Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of bioMerieux’s/BioFire’s Quality System.
2. Understand bioMerieux’s/BioFire’s technical and scientific mission.
3. Understand technical and functional components of bioMerieux/BioFire Diagnostics.
4. Participate in development of BI infrastructure including design, build, management, maintenance, and optimization of a data warehouse.
5. Provide BI analytics to business unit Managers, Directors, and Executive Management Group (EMG) that are actionable and impact business decisions.
6. Participate in collaboration efforts with global BI development teams (e.g. bioMerieux France, Cognizant development team in India).
7. Participate in supplier sourcing and negotiation requirements as needed.
8. Constructs forecasts, recommendations and strategic/ tactical plans based on business and market data.
9. Write documentation for analysis methods, specifications and reports. Documents typically describe models, data analysis and algorithms. The content of the documentation should be adjusted to match audience.
10. Must be familiar with a variety BI concepts, practices, and procedures.
11. Provide BI software utility training to internal subject matter experts.
12. Collaborate with internal data analyst/science teams to provide accurate analytics to business.
13. Prioritize and complete data requests in a timely manner.
14. Complete projects on time with minimal supervision.
15. Continually update technical knowledge and skills.
16. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Training and Education
BS degree in computer science, IS, IT or related field or
Significant related experience in lieu of degree.
Experience
Experience developing BI solutions in MS Azure, Snowflake, and or SAP Hana (SCP) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Understands ERP and CRM systems data infrastructure and how it relates to transformation requirements (data warehouse) for analysis.
· Expert level in Excel.
· Expert level in SQL (MS SQL/TSQL, MySQL, and/or Amazon Redshift SQL)
· Experience in BI Software (Tableau, DOMO, Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects, etc.)
· Experience in one of the following programming/analytical languages: R, Python, C#, Java, JavaScript, and D3.JS.
· Experience working with data from SAP, Salesforce, OSI PI System, and Jira a plus.
· Experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes a plus.
· Understands data visualization best practices.
· Orientation for detail work product, with emphasis or accuracy and completeness.
· Proficient in MS Office Suite and flow charts software.
· Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively.
· Must demonstrate ability to complete objectives without high levels of supervision.
