Job Summary
Works with the Consumables Director to develop, implement, and sustain the Consumables Development Engineering team strategy. Coordinate team activities to achieve company and department goals. Work with other departments to create and improve processes that lead to better execution of company SOPs and WIDs. Direct the growth of the team while ensuring all engineers are trained and understand their roles within the company and project teams that they are assigned to.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics Quality System.
  • Identify and / or hire required resources to meet department goals and initiatives.
  • Development and implementation of department initiatives.
  • Organizing the engineering space and equipment to meet company plans.
  • Ensuring engineering SOPs meet the needs of the engineering team.
  • Development, maintenance, and implementation of engineering WIDs that are compliant with BioFires quality system, cGMP, and ISO 13485 requirements.
  • Continual process improvements to cross departmental activities.
  • Technical Leadership.

  • Hiring of engineering staff.
  • Project resource allocation.
  • Design Control Process development and implementation
  • Training for engineering staff on BioFire DCP and SOPs
Supplemental Data
Minimal travel required.
Training and Education
BS or masters degree (or higher) in engineering.
5+ years of experience in engineering, project management, or related areas.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent planning skills, management of personnel, and negotiation skills. Ability to work with other departments to coordinate activities.
