Reporting to the Associate Director of Clinical Marketing UKI, the Junior Microbiology Product Manager will be responsible for the marketing activities for the Manual ID/AST and PPM/LBM product range. Day to day, this role will be under the supervision of the Senior Microbiology Product Manager and this role will also support them for operational activities around the other microbiology product ranges

This position will be based in the UK, ideally near the UK office in Basingstoke, with occasional travel outside the region according to business needs.

 

What will your responsibilities be within bioMérieux?

 

•              Marketing support for UKI and contribution towards the achievement of commercial targets for their product range (Manual ID/AST and PPM/LBM) through market action plans (Marketing Excellence Process),

•              Operational product management activities for the microbiology product ranges (forecast, allocations etc., as part of supply chain management, preparation of launch files).

•              Support and compliment key business functions within the organisation, in order to maintain and validate the product offer; includes close work with the Lab Automation Product Manager on our complimentary automation/media offer and the Senior Microbiology Product Manager for our ID/AST offer.

•              Spend time in the field on a regular basis subject to operational demands, working both independently and together with the commercial team in support of the business, to prepare compelling and credible ‘why buy’ messaging and argumentation, and market test before market product launch.

•              Development of a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and Key Visionary Leader (KVL) network. Act as an ambassador for bioMérieux with Internal and External customers.

•              Partner with Commercial teams, Local, Global and EMEA Marketing and to contribute and participate in UKI Cluster and Corporate meetings and local customer user group meetings.

 

Who are you?

The ideal candidate will have

  • Strong clinical microbiology background with degree level education
  • Minimum five years relevant industry experience in a customer facing role is essential. Experienced in Clinical Microbiology IVD sales, marketing or technical/logistical support.
  • Current Industry knowledge and understanding of our customers (public/private laboratories) & local reimbursement mechanisms as appropriate, operating within a highly regulated CE/IVD compliant diagnostic marketplace. Aware of market trends, national policy and changes in diagnostic testing and national healthcare provision.
  • Ability to discuss with external stakeholders as peers and to design and deliver presentations. Strong communication skills thus being able to share product and market knowledge in an enthusiastic and supportive manner.
  • Experience working within an international matrix organization.

You must have the:  

  • Ability to work with a high level of autonomy and also be comfortable working as part of a collaborative team and take direction when needed. Very high level of organisation, planning and time management skills is essential.
  • Possess strong computer skills including email, internet, PowerPoint, word processing packages, databases, and spreadsheet
  • Strong sense of accountability and follow through. Ability to prioritise activities and maintain set timelines
  • Mature and emotionally intelligent, a flexible team player working well with diverse personalities. 
  • Analytical in thinking with a customer focus whilst being result oriented.
  • UK/Irish driving license mandatory
