Account Manager Pharma
The Industry Account Manager – Pharma quality Control job is to maintain and establish growth of the current microbiology customer base and create new business opportunities through the sales or placement of instruments (with service programs) and reagents leading to increased revenues for the company. The Account Manager is directly responsible for achieving or exceeding the territory sales / product mix targets for the Pharma Quality control business in the Netherlands by driving business revenue with existing and potential customers.
Main Accountabilities:
Build and maintain relationship in order to promote solution (reagents equipment and services) sales, ensuring customer relationships are optimized to achieve sales targets and budget, while keeping the overview about the sales territory in terms of understanding the opportunities, risks and competition’s activities.
- Drive the sales profitable growth with direct responsibility for achieving the territory sales goals, commercial budget and action plans, defined by the sales management
- Promote a complete solution to different stakeholders across departments of quality, laboratory and production
- Increase penetration (both commercial and relationship) within existing accounts. Maintain and support the existing installed base by taking care of customer relationship, satisfaction and retention
- Attract new customers in selected segments and develop a network with opinion leaders and key customers
- Actively manage pipeline to ensure timing of closes matches monthly and quarterly forecasts. Monitor monthly sales for accuracy and define action plans to account for shortage towards goal achievement.
- Ensure optimal territory management by maintaining a sufficient number of visits to customers and prospects, respecting the objectives set for the territory and documenting all relevant activities/information into CRM 360 (Salesforce).
- Continuously improve on own sales skills & knowledge of the products, services and customers by working closely with sales management, marketing manager and more experienced sales representatives.
- Keep Sales Force (CRM tool) up to date daily including all relevant information (ex: opportunities close & product dates, contact reviewed, competitive assets, etc…)
- Actively gather and report market data and trends / changes in markets that may affect the performance of the division
- Adopt a team approach, work with team in pursuing common goals.
- Prepare quotations, proposals for review by Senior Management prior to negotiation with customers.
- Provide technical expertise/assistance in product line as required in sales process
- Other accountabilities as assigned
- Ensure sales activities comply with legal and ethical standards as well as company policies.
Studies-Experience:
- University degree in Business or Science
- Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance / Control, Microbiology and/or operations preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience with a proven track record, capital sale equipment preferred
- Based in Flanders (Belgium) or in the Southern part of the Netherlands
Skills and Qualifications:
- Have excellent sales skills and a history of proven sales success in complex projects (i.e: multi-instruments involving several stakeholders)
- Understanding of the sales process and sales analysis.
- Very good organization, people, and communication skills
- Excellent presenting skills to all levels of decision makers
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to develop financial proposals
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple opportunities within a strategic territory
- Self-Driven
- Strong capacity to influence
- Fluent in Dutch and English
