Position Summary:
With guidance from department resources, operates and maintains the major building systems that provide required services and critical utilities to maintain life safety and production.  Ensure that facilities are maintained and conditioned as needed to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment and enable the effective and efficient performance of business operations. 
Normal working hours for this position are Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm. 
Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Monitor/operate equipment in order to maintain and/or improve the proper, safe, and efficient functionality of facilities assets.
  • Monitor and operate the automated facility energy management system. Respond to alarms and other urgent facility situations. Complete all required documentation regarding alarm response.
  • Perform preventative, corrective, predictive and breakdown maintenance on equipment and facility as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot with guidance, mechanical and electrical problems. Under guidance will install, repair and maintain facility systems.   
  • Use problem-solving tools to identify root cause for repetitive breakdowns or other losses. Addresses key issues and communicates with peers.
Education, Skills, & Experience: 
  • High school diploma with one year of relevant maintenance experience; or Associates Degree in technical / skilled trade is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical, plumbing, electrical and carpentry knowledge are also required, including ability to read blueprints. 
  • This position makes decisions based on clearly defined guidelines.   
  • Must use problem solving to evaluate issues with buildings and equipment and suggest / execute solutions to problems.
