Description

The R&D Microbiology Associate Scientist will provide support to laboratory activities through purchasing requests and microbiologic strain culturing.  

 

Position Details 

  • Responsible for the order and maintenance of equipment used in assigned activities.
  • Responsible for purchase orders of requested equipment and reagents through internal tools (EPROC).
  • Prepares media and reagents with autoclave equipment.
  • Provides support in performing routine laboratory activities including culture of microorganisms.
  • Applies scientific principles and techniques to exercises and experiments.
  • Assures compliance of procedures to established protocols and quality standards.
  • Organizes workload to meet project goals and understand priorities and completes assignments accordingly.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree Biology or Microbiology or equivalent experience in related field.
  • Experience with Identification methods such as VITEK 2 ID, VITEK MS, and standard biochemicals and gram stains is preferred.
  • Experience with aseptic technique and handling bacteria.
  • Experience with internal tools (Logsheet Manager, Stock Collection Manager, EPROC) not required but a plus.
  • Experience with good laboratory practice, laboratory safety and standard laboratory equipment.

  • Good written and oral communication in English.
  • Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
