Position Summary & Responsibilities:
The EHS Specialist will be an integral part of our team, working directly on the floor to manage hazardous and biohazardous waste in compliance with all regulatory requirements. This hands-on position involves physically demanding tasks, including carrying, lifting, and transporting waste to designated areas. A primary responsibility is to pick up waste from various points within the facility and safely deliver it to the central accumulation area. In addition, the specialist will assist in preparing waste shipments, ensuring that all required documentation and regulatory compliance measures are met in collaboration with our waste vendor. This role will be expected to have an understanding of hazardous waste regulations at both the federal level and for the state of North Carolina, as adherence to these guidelines is critical to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
The ideal candidate for this role will have practical experience in handling hazardous waste materials and the ability to work in a fast-paced, physical environment. The position requires someone who is comfortable with getting their hands dirty and is dedicated to maintaining a high level of safety and compliance in all waste management operations.
