BioFire Diagnostics, LLC. is looking for a Global Medical Affairs Education Coordinator to join our growing team!  

The Medical Affairs Education Coordinator will lead planning, developing and managing of both in-person and e-Learning. He/she will provide direction and leadership in concept development to analyze needs, tasks, learning environment and to develop learning objectives and requirements for supporting Medical Education for the global medical affairs teams, sales, marketing and customer support personnel.  He/she will establish and manage educational packages for off-label use requests in collaboration with regional Medical Affairs teams, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the bioMérieux Medical Education teams based in Marcy and the regional Medical Directors to develop and ensure provision medical education as needed.
  2. Collaborate with members of the BioFire and bioMerieux commercial learning teams and marketing to analyze learning needs and recommend solutions for live and online training courses.
  3. Compile and communicate metrics of the Medical Affairs teams and stakeholders relating to BioFire product medical education.
  4. Organize and maintain the BioFire Product Medical Education courses by adding users, materials and organizing training sessions with appropriate stakeholders.
  5. Develop additional online training programs, modules, and courses to that support the main training categories and Brand Plan. Integrate the training videos and quizzes for a more interactive course.
  6. Collaborate in concept development of new courses to other departments as requested.
  7. Create engaging online learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.).
  8. Work with subject matter experts to design, develop and implement in-person and online courses for target audience’s training needs.
  9. Manage course outlines, documentation and assessment strategies.
  10. Manage instructional design projects by collaboratively creating and improving the process that drives the direction and development through all phases.
  11. Manage the skills, tags, catalogs and other criteria used to judge learner’s performance.
  12. Collaborate in the execution, testing and documentation of training activities in support of business and brand objectives.
  13. Contribute to the individual growth of all members of the training team and to the development of the team’s abilities as a whole.
  14. Provide the framework for and manage off-label use educational packets in collaboration with regional Medical Affairs teams, compliance, customer service and regulatory affairs.  
  15. Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics’ Quality System.
  16. Other assigned duties or miscellaneous tasks.
Minimum Qualifications

Training & Education:  This position requires the knowledge and skills normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a Medical Science or in Education with experience in training in the Medical Field.  Experience with  Instructional Design, Instructional Systems Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Technology or related field is highly desirable. 

Minimum experience: Bachelor of Science or Education with experience in Medical Education

Desirable degrees, BS, MS, RN, PhD, MD PhD or MD

Experience:  Typically requires 3+ years of experience creating training content relating to Medical content including eLearning. Experience in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology is highly desirable.

Proactive attitude and the desire to work both individually and collaboratively. Must be expert proficient with Microsoft office; PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Experience with Web based team learning applications highly desirable. Some knowledge of molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, is helpful but not required.


  • Knowledge of learning theories, methodologies, and assessment and evaluation tools.
  • Ability to independently do background research on medical topics and develop/update training content.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects; self-motivated, and a team player.
  • Experience with graphic, audio and video tools a plus. Knowledge of creating lessons and curriculum planning skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills essential.
