The Sr. Electrical Engineer will perform all aspects of electronic design from the initial feasibility stage to manufacturing release for use in medical diagnostic equipment. Using knowledge of schematic design, EMC, analysis, debug, and PCB layout, supports and optimizes instrument manufacturing activities. This individual will provide SME support for new product introduction and existing product lines. Primary Duties Designs, troubleshoots, and supports electrical systems down to detail level to optimize processes and ensure quality and efficiency. Responsible for the design of experiments and writing supporting technical reports and documentation. Collaborates with Mechanical, Firmware and System Engineers, as well as other internal and external partners. Ensures the successful design, development, testing and implementation of both product and process changes. Identifies issues and uses problem solving to formulate and implement creative solutions to address electrical safety, EMC requirements, etc. Leads small-scale development efforts and projects including planning, scheduling, and documentation required for design control. Acts as SME support for new product introduction and existing product lines for complex medical diagnostic equipment. Mentors less experienced engineers in their technical development. Work experience & skills requirements Requires a Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 8+ years of practical engineering experience. Medical Device experience is preferred. Must have five (5) years of relevant experience in the design and development of electronic systems with proven ability to troubleshoot electronic systems. Working knowledge of electronic design principles, analog and digital systems, and PCB manufacturing processes are required. Experience with design in consideration of EMI/EMC is required. Must have proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (including MS Project) and electrical CAD (Altium preferred). Knowledge of FDA Design Controls, QMS, ISO, UL and CE requirements
