Assist in coordinating safety & health, and environmental programs in accordance with governmental and company requirements. Serve as a technical resource on prevention of occupational injury/illness related losses and minimization of future liabilities by evaluating risks and establishing appropriate loss control/reduction activities. Interact regularly with various levels of the organization. Main Accountabilities: Coordinate facility safety, health and environmental programs in accordance with site and corporate Safety & Health Policies and Procedures requirements. Conduct, monitor, and provide support to facilities HSE training programs to ensure that all requirements of the safety & health and environmental policies / procedures and applicable state and federal regulations are addressed. Present New Team Member Orientation and other safety trainings. Assist with Worker Compensation claim activities, provide requested information and notification to the designated Worker' Compensation insurance company representative. Assist with the review and revision of core OSHA programs. Develop programs for Safety Management System certification. Assist with the facilitation of the Near Miss Program. Conduct Job Safety Analysis. Perform basic safety inspections with hazard analysis tools. Studies, Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Requires BS/BA Degree in a Health, Safety and/or Environment related program, and a minimum of three (3) years previous experience in HSE.
- Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in HSE will be considered in lieu of educational requirement (or a combination of education and experience).
- Requires strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Must be comfortable presenting safety training programs such as New Employee Orientation to large or small groups.
- Excellent personal hygiene required in production areas.
