Description and Responsibilities
Position Summary:

Responsible for work conducted with the BioReagents manufacturing group. This position is expected to provide support and leadership to the Manufacturing Team Leads and Manufacturing Technicians, as well as support technical efforts for the group. In addition, the position is responsible for conducting and coordinating hands-on employee training with new hires and may assist with training or retraining of current personnel. The Manufacturing Technical Lead reports to the Production Supervisor or Production Manger and interacts with fellow Manufacturing Team Leads or Automated Machine Operators.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BFDX’s Quality System.
  2. Responsible for assisting Team leads with technical issues such as training, organization workflow, and troubleshooting production issues.
  3. Assist with technical support issues such as manufacturing specialized orders and auxiliary testing.
  4. Track KPI’s related to pouch manufacturing.
  5. Manages best practices for operational excellence within the manufacturing division.
  6. Provide on time delivery of products by executing production schedule, and by resolving process/product related issues using tools such as Temporary Deviations, rework procedures, NCR’s, etc.
  7. Responsible for Quality investigations including problem identification, corrective actions, data review and analysis and timely completion of documentation.
  8. Work closely with Operations management to identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes.
  9. Exhibits a high level of organization and tremendous attention to detail in order to successfully manage this group.
  10. Communicates effectively with supervisors, and teams they support.
  11. Stays current on all manufacturing processes and may perform the job duties of a Manufacturing Team Lead as deemed necessary.
  12. Performs training on department specific training modules and ensures new employees have been fully trained on all process related WIDs & SOPs and provides ongoing training as needed.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Training and Education:

Minimum of two years of experience in an FDA/ISO manufacturing environment with a minimum of one year of manufacturing experience in a Lead or Automated Operator role at BioFire Diagnostics in the specified manufacturing area. A degree in Life Science or Manufacturing Operations is preferred, but not required

Experience:

Knowledge of real time PCR is preferred. Experience in Industry and Knowledge of cGMP/QSR/ISO is required.

Skills:

Well-developed managerial skills including: Computer literacy in database, spreadsheet, project management, and word processing software. Ability to write reports, manufacturing procedures, and training material. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to organize, lead and evaluate the work of other personnel required. Ability to develop, coordinate and implement multi-level individual and team-based tasks. Well-developed interpersonal communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

Be able to safely lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
