What will your responsibilities be within bioMérieux?


As a Business Development Manager for the BioFire portfolio, you will regularly visit Key Account customers according to pre-defined yearly targets, and make sure all activity requirements are satisfied to maintain excellent customers relations.

This position is field based and will require throughout the whole Nordics (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland). If you enjoy working in the field, this position will suit you well and reward you with lots of interesting interactions.


Main Accountabilities include:

  • Act as a Business Developer for the BIOFIRE product range following up qualified leads and converting these into buying customers. (By visiting Laboratory Manager, Clinicians,  Microbiologist / Virologist, Infection Control Director & Team, Procurement).
  • Work together with the Account Managers /Commercial Manager to produce financial proposals and quotations according to company pricing strategy and target profitability.
  • Promptly dealing with customer enquiries, requests and complaints.
  • Using  Sales force as regular tool to make records from your activity, participate to Sales meetings, exhibitions and local congresses
  • Develop a network with Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Act as an ambassador for bioMérieux with customers.
  • Continuously follow courses, trainings etc. about bioMérieux products and to understand the market needs /techniques used in the Field  to become the local expert in defined product ranges.


Who are you?


  • Higher scientific education, good knowledge and understanding of Clinical Microbiology techniques. Scientific and Sales background.
  • Previous Account Management desirable
  • Skills and qualification : Knowledge of MS Office, able to understand Microbiology/ Virology  Workflow, able to discus with Key Opinion Leaders at their level of experience, able to organize local meetings, able to make local study evaluation protocols.  
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience desirable, emotionally intelligent, flexible and  a team player, analytical thinking, customer focus and result oriented, strong communication skills, able to share knowledge with the sales team and motivate them to sell allocated products. Need to be enthusiastic & highly committed to succeed with excellent organization & planning skills.
  • Mandatory Driver’s License
  • Fluency in English and in a local Nordic language (Swedish, Danish or Norwegian)
