Business Development Manager Nordics


Do you have a good knowledge and understanding of Molecular Biology Techniques?  Perhaps you are looking to combine that knowledge with your sales experience and communications skills to educate and motivate colleagues as well as customers. Then you might be the one we are looking for.


As a Business Development Manager for BIOFIRE you will regularly visit Key account customers according to pre-defined yearly targets, and make sure all activity requirements are satisfied to maintain excellent customers relations.

This position are Field-based and you will travel throughout the whole Nordics (Norway, Sweden ,Denmark and also Iceland). If you enjoy working in the field, this position will suit you well and reward you with lots of interesting interactions. Due to the time required in the field, it is mandatory that you have a driver's license.

For this position it is mandatory that you are fluent in English and in Swedish, Danish or Norwegian. 


Main Accountabilities in the role as Business Development Manager Nordics

  • Act as a Business Developer for the BIOFIRE product range following up qualified leads and converting these into buying customers. (By visiting Laboratory Manager, Clinicians,  Microbiologist / Virologist, Infection Control Director & Team, Procurement).
  • Work together with the Account Managers /Commercial Manager to produce financial proposals and quotations according to company pricing strategy and target profitability.
  • Promptly dealing with customer enquiries, requests and complaints.
  • Using  Sales force as regular tool to make records from your activity, participate to Sales meetings, exhibitions and local congresses
  • Develop a network with Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Act as an ambassador for bioMérieux with customers.
  • Continuously follow courses, trainings etc. about bioMérieux products and to understand the market needs /techniques used in the Field  to become the local expert in defined product ranges.


Performance Evaluation

  • Sales performance against all specified Targets monitored on a regular basis.
  • Activity performance against all specified Targets monitored on a regular basis.
  • Meeting deadlines for projects on time within agreed budgets.


Typical Studies-Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Higher scientific education, good knowledge and understanding of Clinical Microbiology techniques. Scientific and Sales background.
  • Previous Account Management desirable
  • Skills and qualification : Knowledge of MS Office, able to understand Microbiology/ Virology  Workflow, able to discus with Key Opinion Leaders at their level of experience, able to organize local meetings, able to make local study evaluation protocols.  
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience desirable, emotionally intelligent, flexible and  a team player, analytical thinking, customer focus and result oriented, strong communication skills, able to share knowledge with the sales team and motivate them to sell allocated products. Need to be enthusiastic & highly committed to succeed with excellent organization & planning skills.
