Position Summary:

The System Engineering & Support engineer is responsible for the integration, support, troubleshooting and testing of medical device systems.  The systems of bioMerieux incorporate aspects of software, mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering.  A typical system includes a complex medical instrument, Windows software, and various peripherals. The System Engineer is a project representative for SE&S maintaining the product requirements, Verification & Validation Planning, System Use Risk Analysis, Systems Verification, and Trace Matrix documentation.  The System Engineer is also responsible for customer complaint investigations and reporting findings as part of a quality system record.


Studies and Experience:

A minimum of a BS in one of the following:

  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
  • Computer Science

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with designing and/or testing complex systems
  • Candidate must be well grounded in system engineering or biomedical engineering principles and demonstrated hands-on competency working with complex medical instrumentation
  • Strong collaborative design and project skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Provides assistance to more senior engineering staff to assure that project deadlines are met
  • Takes responsibility for design control where applicable and their compliance with design specifications and standard quality and compliance procedures
  • Provides support to engineering, validation, manufacturing, and customer service activities

 

Additional Information:

The System Engineer must communicate well with Project Managers, Program Managers, Quality Assurance, Regulatory representatives, Marketing, Software, Hardware, Firmware Engineers, Field Engineers, Manufacturing personnel, Product Labeling , Product Validation, and other resources in the complaint handling chain to facilitate project deliverables and investigate/correct any defects which are detected.
