What will be your role at bioMerieux? 

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based resource that supports the scientific medical strategy of bioMérieux diagnostic solutions.

The MSL will support scientific and medical communication on the company's products to healthcare professionals, patient associations and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with legislation and bioMérieux ethical principles.

This role will report to the Country Medical Advisor and is accountable of specific IVD portfolio solutions (Syndromic solutions and biomarkers)


Main missions/accountabilities


In collaboration with the Medical Advisor/Director, propose, develop and implement a medical and market access strategy for bioMérieux diagnostic solutions. The priorities will be:

  • Syndromic solutions for infectious disease

  • Biomarkers (Acute Kidney Injury, traumatic brain injury and others)



Identify, recruit, leverage and maintain relationships with critical and acute care Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) across the UK and Ireland


Provide operational and medical support to sales teams (Account Managers, CEM, Business developers) and marketing


Develop the scientific image of bioMérieux with key healthcare stakeholders as a leader in the diagnosis of infectious diseases


Medical communication :

  • Create and validate scientific documents and customer facing supports 

  • Deliver scientific presentations in groups and face-to-face to physicians across different  specialties

  • Support healthcare institutions in defining and deploying the most appropriate diagnostic recommendations, based on data availability, context and guidelines.

  • Facilitate exchanges between stakeholders for the adoption of innovative diagnostic solutions;

  • Organize local scientific meetings for medical education (EPU) according to the needs expressed by health professionals and Scientific advisory boards (SAB)

  • Respond to questions and requests for off-label information

  • Contribute to the training of teams in charge of promotion, and any other employee according to bioMérieux's needs;

  • Provide medical support to the various teams if necessary and lead scientific exchanges between) Marketing, Sales and Service;

  • Ensure scientific watch


Management of Key opinion leaders:

  • Identify and map regional and national opinion leaders

  • Identify and interact with regional scientific networks and scientific societies

  • Establish privileged scientific professional relationships with opinion leaders in order to understand patient care pathways and their need in terms of

  • unmet medical needs

  • medical information

  • medical education



Evidence Generation:

  • Contribute to manage  company-sponsored post-market studies, Support investigator initiated trials (IITs) in line with global strategy and according to Medtech requirements and bioMérieux SOPs

  • Support clinical development initiatives including site identification, trial recruitment, registry, and presentation of final approved data


About you

Qualifications: Education and Work Experience, Skills and Competencies


  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience.

  • Experience in emergency or critical care is strongly preferred along with a solid professional reputation for interacting productively with HCPs in the field.

  • Experience in the management of clinical trials and UK clinical research environment and legislation is desirable.

  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing scientific literature.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship building skills

  • Proactive approach with proven ability to take initiative and work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
