Due to internal mobility, an exciting vacancy has arisen for a Product Manager BioFire for UK & Ireland. Reporting to the BioFire Marketing Manager Northern Europe (NEC), this role is responsible for the marketing activities for the BioFire product range, to include reagents, instruments, software and related services. This role will work closely with the Commercial team in the UK & Ireland as well as Global and EME Marketing. The ideal candidate will be based in the UK spending 40-50% time in the field.


 What will your responsibilities be at bioMérieux?


This is an exciting role where you will be responsible for designing, adapting and implementing a marketing strategy to ensure continued growth and profitability for the Company amid a dynamic and competitive marketplace. This role combines strategic marketing, including development of marketing plan to prepare commercial targets and control of costs & revenue, as well as operational product management activities ( forecast, allocations etc., as part of supply chain management, preparation of launch files). You will need to identify and develop a network with Key Opinion Leaders and Key vision leaders acting as an ambassador for bioMérieux with internal and external customers.


Who are you?


The ideal candidate has:  

  • Higher scientific education with several years’ experience and understanding of mainstream clinical molecular diagnostics and microbiology techniques. Proven Molecular Infectious Disease Diagnostics Marketing and Sales background. Good knowledge of the competition. Experience in the molecular near patient testing/point of care diagnostic market desirable.
  • Current Industry knowledge and understanding of our customers (public/private laboratories) & local reimbursement mechanisms as appropriate, operating within a highly regulated CE/IVD compliant diagnostic marketplace. Aware of market trends and changes in diagnostic testing provision.
  • Knowledge of MS Office. Understanding of microbiology, molecular and virology workflow. Abiliity to discuss with KOL and KVL as peers and to design and deliver presentations and organise local meetings and events. Comfortable working within an international matrix organization. Emotionally intelligent, flexible team player, analytical in thinking with a customer focus whilst being result oriented. Strong communication skills thus being able to share product and market knowledge and  enthuse the sales team. High level of organization,  planning and time management skills.


The Product Manager needs to work with a high level of autonomy and also be comfortable working as part of a team
