bioMérieux and BioFire Diagnostics are looking for a Global Product Manager, to oversee cloud-based Healthcare Information Systems to join our Global Marketing team!  This marketing role manages all aspects of current and future biomerieux and BioFire Healthcare Information System product development from concept development through launch strategy. This position works closely with BioFire engineering, market research, strategic planning, product analytics, software, field staff, regulatory, legal affairs, compliance, and clinical and medical affairs. This position includes interaction with key Healthcare Information system stakeholders in order to define product objectives, mapping out appropriate strategies, and executing effective solution tactics in order to execute effective information solution tactics to address unmet medical and epidemiological needs.     

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics’ Quality System.

 

  1. Executes:
  • Market research throughout global regions across biomerieux and BioFire medical device functions
  • Management and support of gathering requirements for new Healthcare Information System and Technology features and products through scientific and clinical advisory board meetings
  • Development of solution roadmap, specifications, and marketing contributions for cloud hosted systems from project proposal through go-to-market strategy
  • Research and design data inputs derived from comprehensive cloud-hosted software solutions to encourage reliable clinical, economic, and epidemiologic outcomes
  • Creation of enterprise business solutions and databases
  • Post market surveillance for both non-IVD and IVD device functions
  • Technical guidance and specification on product development for both non-IVD and IVD device functions
  • Integrates healthcare systems and solutions across business enterprise and cross functional teams
  • Creation of product roadmap for Healthcare Information System requirements
  • Initiates comprehensive analyses for go to market needs
  1. Develops with minimal supervision:
  • Solution messaging and positioning strategy
  • Cloud hosted Healthcare Information System product definition
  • Pricing Strategy
  • Business enterprise informatics
  • Product value streams across biomeriuex and BioFire system solutions
  • Value based contracting
  • Global healthcare information exchange through cloud hosted solutions, bi-directional connectivity, laboratory information systems, and electronic health record inputs
  • Innovative approaches related to data collection and interpretation that are used to resolve technical challenges in dissemination and reporting requirements   
  • Promotion of biomerieux and BioFire through building and maintain public private partnerships
  1. Monitors and generates actionable insights into:
  • Competition
  • Market trends
  • Sales performance and trends in assigned business area
  • Pricing effectiveness
  • Customer behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes
  • Market opportunities
  • Effectiveness of marketing strategies and tactics
  • Market research and enterprise business intelligence needs
  • Clinical data gaps and analysis
  • Product features that address unmet global medical and epidemiological needs.
  • Health outcomes and economic research pipeline
  1. Interfaces / works closely with and/or manages:
  • Global, regional and local marketing colleagues globally

  • Internal R&D, Manufacturing, Legal, Quality personnel
  • IT/IS

  • IT Microbiology Solutions

  • Company executive management 
  1. May supervise staff, which includes hiring, orienting, onboarding, training, assigning and reviewing work performance, annual work performance appraisals, and discipline. May make recommendations to management regarding employment, performance evaluation, counseling and discipline for employees. 
  2. Performs work under general supervision.

Qualifications

Training & Education:  Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or business-related field; MBA, MPH preferred. 

Experience:

  • 4+ years of successful product management or other relevant experience preferably with diagnostic or medical products
  • Lab and/or clinical experience preferred; not required 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Sensitivity to a wide variety of cultures and a willingness to broaden horizons and experience to maximize personal relationships and business results
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, is highly desired, but not a requirement
  • Possesses working knowledge of marketing regulated clinical diagnostics preferably in the field of infectious disease
  • Ability to adapt go-to-market strategies to variations in markets across the regions
  • Handles basic issues and problems, and refers some complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Interacts and presents technical information to audience with various levels of scientific experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Extensive experience with contact management databases
  • Flexibility to accommodate working hours for interaction with global counterparts, as needed 

Requires Travel up to 25% of time, domestic and international
