We are looking for a dynamic and energetic person to join our team as the Infrastructure Service Manager – North America West who will help us shape and manage the next generation of infrastructure services for our fast-growing company. In this role you’ll find yourself engaging with highly qualified personnel who collaborate to create an IS environment that can stay ahead of the ever increasing needs of our business. You will work with operational technologies that are next generation in design and moving quickly to support our ever growing manufacturing facilities.  You’ll be leading a team that is highly skilled in a dynamic environment that is global in nature.  


The IS Infrastructure organization designs, implements and operates a state of the art information systems infrastructure serving over 12,000 employees, in over 100 locations across 40 countries. We work with the latest and emerging technologies to deliver secure, scalable, high performing and always available infrastructure services around the world.


We deliver services and solutions which connects, hosts, virtualizes, stores, collaborates, integrates, computes, and transacts business that utilize the private and public cloud, the internet and all variants of as a Service. Overall Objective of the Job

The Infrastructure Service Manager represents infrastructure services to Biomerieux’s North America operation working closely with regional business partners to align and enable business strategies and to ensure the needs of the region are communicated and met. The position also interacts closely with global Infrastructure technology leads to ensure alignment to standards and strategy. This role reports to the Associate Director of Infrastructure – North America West.


Main Accountabilities

  • Drive Initiatives, synergies & cost-out in the region
  • Actively seek ways to improve BioMerieux ’s IT management practices.
  • Maintain BioMerieux’s enterprise technology assets.
  • Lead and participate in departmental and corporate projects and help see them to successful completion.
  • Drive Simplification of Infrastructure Services
  • Establish, maintain and monitor service level agreements for multiple organizational stakeholders.
  • Establish an organizational structure that will monitor and respond to relevant escalated support issues.
  • Leverage best practices to build IS maturity
  • Help plan, develop, and maintain disaster recovery plans for all IS systems.
  • Actively participate in the Change Advisory Boards.
  • Drive operational excellence across End User Computing Services, Computing and Network Operations
  • Represent and communicate the regional business infrastructure requirements back to IS
  • Work with local facilities & finance teams regarding budget and IS service consumption
  • Manage the relationships and governance process around IS services for local and global infrastructure vendors
  • Provide technical guidance, leadership, and management oversight across the region
  • Provides consultation to business on technology related decisions and strategy
  • Manage resource planning, allocation and deployment process
  • Plan for the growth needs of the IS infrastructure.
  • Seek to mentor and support the education and experience of IS engineers.
  • Continually update knowledge and skills and lead improvements to existing systems.




  • BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems, preferred or equivalent work experience.



  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience working at a senior manager level within IS
  • Managing a team of IS professionals
  • Demonstrated focus on meeting business partner expectations and a customer service mindset
  • Strong analytical, planning, project management, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience on large complex transformational programs
  • Experience developing budgets and controlling costs
  • Experience in working internationally across different cultures
  • Must be a dynamic leader who excels at maximizing employee productivity, heightening team efficiency, and creating strong cooperative relationships.

Preferred experience

  • Implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience leading or maintaining an Operational Technology environment.
  • Understanding of DevOps and application delivery processes
  • Knowledge of Operational Security and IS security practices



  • Must be able to interact with end users and staff in a professional, friendly manner.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across multiple areas of the business.
  • Excellent communication abilities, including the ability to communicate highly technical information to a diverse group of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical skills, including networking, systems administration, Active Directory, cloud services and cloud computing, database management or DevOps are desired but not required.
