Sr Director Sales & Marketing

Summary:

The purpose of this job is to establish and execute the commercial strategies that support the revenue targets and growth objectives, and to lead the marketing initiatives that will support the sales activities that will guide the long term success of the Food Unit in the USA. This person will also define the strategic plans of the company for the US Food Industrial Market in alignment with the Global vision of the Food unit of Biomerieux Industry. This is accomplished by directing the activities of sales and marketing teams in the territory in order to meet or exceed division revenue targets and expense guidelines.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment, Selection, Development and Retention of top sales/support talent.
  • Meeting or exceeding the Food Sales and Marketing revenue targets and growth objectives.
  • Achieving the cEbit for the year target for this unit.
  • Supervise and define Market research activities related to the successful implementation of the Marketing Plans
  • Planning/Organizing/Directing field focus of team members & activities to grow our business
  • Field Travel/Joint Sales/Field Coaching Mentoring & Feedback for direct reports that results in increased sales as well as career and personal development. 
  • Meeting with and maintaining business relationships with key strategic accounts within territory.
  • Leads Sales & Marketing management in developing new or improved sales/support tools while directing field activities that support marketing campaigns.
  • Perform all administrative responsibilities required in managing/leading the Unit.
  • Review reports/budgets/time and overall effective and efficient time & territory management of all direct reports. (Salesforce, weekly sales call stats; expense T & E’s, weekly phone-ins, sales pipelines, sales forecasts, contracts, etc.)
  • Works with Global Food teams to ensure feedback and alignment with the Global Food vision.

 

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or other postgraduate work in Food Science, Microbiology or Molecular Biology
  2. At least 8+ years management experience with Food Quality and safety sales and marketing experience
  3. Strong Customer network appreciated
  4. Experience of P&L management
  5. Good communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Strong leadership and influencing skills
  7. Customer Centricity mindset
