Position Summary:

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm

To operate and maintain the major building systems that provide required services and critical utilities as needed to maintain life, safety, and production. To ensure that the facilities are maintained and conditioned as needed to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment and enable the company’s associates to be productive while performing their job functions.

Shift work required to provide 24 hour 7 day coverage for the Durham manufacturing facility.  This is a position that requires attendance during adverse weather conditions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical components of industrial equipment up to 480V. Candidates will further be able to install, repair, and maintain motor control centers (MCC).
  • Install, repair, test, and troubleshoot information technology data cabling. (CAT6)
  • Observe safety procedures and meet National Electrical Codes and assist with assessing safety and environmental risk to ensure program compliance.
  • Monitor/operate equipment in order to maintain and/or improve the proper, safe, and efficient functionality of facilities assets.
  • Troubleshoot advanced mechanical and electrical problems on various pieces of facility equipment. Use problem-solving tools to identify root cause for repetitive breakdowns or other losses.
  • Requires the ability to use computers for document editing, computerized maintenance management system. Should have basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Maintain excellent team working relationships and ownership of equipment and reliability while driving 100% customer satisfaction throughout all departments

 

Studies and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsibility and related experience working in an industrial setting required, preferably in a regulated production/operations facility.

-Or-

  • Associates or Trade Certification and a minimum of three (3) years’ of progressive responsibility and related experience working in an Commercial / Industrial setting, preferably in a regulated production/operations facility.
  • NC State Electrical Contractors License preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Certification or experience in one or more of the following areas, preferred:
    • OSHA 10
    • NFPA 70E
    • Level I Infrared Thermographer
    • Journeyman accreditation program
  • Valid Driver’s license required.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations.

 

Physical Requirements:

  •  Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
  •  Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like.
  •  Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
  •  Ability to operate heavy machinery.
  •  Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
