We are seeking a senior software engineer to design the next generation of diagnostics to improve the health of patients and ensure consumer safety for global public health.


Position Summary:

In this senior role, an engineer will share their expertise, mentor and advise other engineers in their professional development and communicate well with team and company leaders.  You will work on the software team to produce quality software related to in vitro diagnostics.


  • This engineer will work on a tangible, next-generation instrument on a project team
  • He or she will support and build the core competency of the company’s engineering department
  • This individual will design and troubleshoot code for software applications, including but not limited to instrument user interfaces and support application code for next generation instruments that will save lives.
  • This person will assist with developing the platform software architecture and ensuring that code developed supports that architecture.
  • The engineering group works in a high-energy collaborative environment where the team is excited to build new products and celebrate successes.
  • This engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, programming, debugging and modification of software. 

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible to lead portions of the project to which you are assigned to accomplish the goals of the project. 
  • May assume a role of technical lead for one or more software components.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles to develop software such as computer applications, instrument user interfaces and support applications and utilities. 
  • Produce high quality software
  • Collaborate with other senior engineers to improve existing software and improve software processes.
  • Work with other team members to understand team and market needs and produce corresponding software requirements. 
  • Write unit tests for code development activities. 
  • Participates effectively in technical code reviews as both a reviewer and reviewee. 
  • Fosters a collaborative and cooperative work environment.
  • Assist in documentation as necessary to meet company policy and FDA guidelines.
  • Mentor other engineers to impart knowledge and improve their software development abilities.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of the bioMérieux Quality System. 


    • 10+ years of experience in writing software in one or more high level languages.
    • 2 or more years of experience Android development is preferred but not required.
    • Experience with modern C# (8+) and .NET is preferred.
    • Experience working in a technical leadership and/or software architecture role.
    • Proficient with at least one revision control system such as Git, Perforce or TFS
    • Bachelors of Science, Computer Science, similar degree or equivalent work experience.
