Facilities Manager (Facilities Engineer)

Position Summary:

This position drives site and departmental project success through budgeting, planning, communication, coordination and timely execution. Responsible for the oversight of a variety of facilities related projects at a diverse multi-building campus.  In addition, provides an additional level of department leadership supporting total customer service to the site.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drives Facilities Department projects, coordinates project budgeting, develops detailed scope of work, sets contractor expectations, manages contracts and ensures deliverables meet quality and timing expectations.
  • Maintains detailed project budget vs spend data as a KPI, tracking at the invoice level inorder to close projects in a timely manner within the fixed asset process/system.
  • Organizes and prioritizes activities in collaboration with key stakeholders; leads and manages those activities to ensure targeted effectiveness is achieved within specified time and budgetary guidelines.
  • Defines, measures, and analyzes data in order to set the appropriate specifications as well as key performance metrics.
  • Anticipates obstacles and challenges; acts with urgency to overcome them.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; may stand in for the Facilities Manager as needed.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  1. A minimum of three (3) years in a related role is required, including advanced knowledge of local regulations such as building codes, construction planning/oversight, environmental/recycling/waste management, sub-contracted activities, and preferably good manufacturing practices.
  2. Must be proficient with general building requirements, HVAC equipment and application specific equipment such as liquid and dry desiccant dehumidifiers. Experience with large air compressors, building automation systems and fire alarm systems is essential.
  3. Requires advanced AutoCAD ability with a firm foundation in Revit. Also requires proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  4. Must have strong interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Must possess problem-solving tools and be able to address key issues and educate peers of problems and solutions.
