Associate Manager, US Distribution (Warehouse)

Position Summary:

This position helps manage the daily warehouse activities of BioMerieux’s third party logistics partner in the United States.  They are responsible to monitor the department’s key performance indicators and and implement continuous improvement in departmental efficiencies. This position will work cross functionally with various departments including Global Quality, Supply Chain, IS, and Supply & Demand Planning.

Responsibilities:

• Monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of BioMerieux’s third party logistics partner (3PL).
• Monitors monthly spend with 3PL and assist department manager with budget creation/adherence.
• Oversees daily warehouse transactions/connections and ensures accuracy.
• Manages packaging compliance for thermo sensitive products
• Oversees the efficient procurement of warehouse packaging supplies through vendors
• Proposes organization improvements, participates in continuous improvement efforts.
• Promotes collaborative cross functional teamwork across Global Supply Chain departments
• Sets necessary QA documentation in collaboration with hierarchy.

Studies and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business/Material Management/Purchasing/Science or 5 - 7 years of industry-related experience
• Requires a minimum of three years progressively responsible experience in warehouse management, with proven ability to lead others.
• SAP experience preferred

Skills and Qualifications:

• Must have working knowledge of ISO, CGMP and MRP manufacturing principles.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including verbal and written skills.
• Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Package

Impact/Management Scope:

Assists with the management of relationship with the third party logistics partner.  Responsible for efficient daily warehouse activities at third party provider.  Resolves technical issues revolving around warehouse activities with third party logistics provider, internal departments, and outside vendors.

Physical Requirements:

• Domestic travel require < 10% of time
• Be able to lift 25 lbs
• Excellent personal hygiene required in production areas.
